I’ll be in Queensland for the next week. I didn’t realize how far away that was so the trip up there should be interesting with two hops on a plane and two ferry rides to my final destination, the Whitsunday Islands. I’ll be traveling way over a 1000 miles tomorrow. I will be camping on the beach of one of the 70+ islands at the south end of the Great Barrier Reef. Snorkeling on the fringe of the reef is in store while I’m camping. Then I’m headed for the subtropical rain forests of inner Queensland. I hear the gorges that “are everywhere” are home to spectacular waterfalls and lush canopies full of endemic species of critters.
This should be some good times just before the holidays. I’m a little unsure how this trip will unfold because I’m really just planning as I go. I’m doing what I love.
